Diet and Nutrition
Good Nutrition is fundamental for Good Health
In society today we, as a nation, have forgotten the reasons why we eat! Many of us live such hectic lifestyles that it has become a habit to ‘grab’ the nearest ‘quick-fix’ food to satisfy our intense hunger, and wash it down with a ‘gulp’ of caffeine or a bottle of fizzy drink. We then moan about depression, aggression, obesity and the abundance of degenerating diseases today. We follow this by visiting our G.P’s for a ‘quick-fix’ pill to make us feel instantly better, so we can continue the cycle. Every time we allow this cycle to happen, our bodies find it harder and harder to bounce back to maximum health and our immune systems begin to fail us and inevitably a more full blown diseases
sets in.
If, however, we could change these patterns and eat a well balanced nutritious meal 3-5 times a day, increase our exercise and allow ourselves some time to relax, the majority of these issues would disperse, enabling our much needed medical consultants to concentrate on the bigger and more serious health issues. This responsibility is down to us, and only YOU can make that decision that you wish to become healthier, only YOU can put that action into reality, once you have decided with this plan of action, I will then be able to guide you in the right direction.
‘I haven’t got time to eat properly’, ‘I can’t afford healthy foods’, my children won’t eat vegetables’ - I’ve heard all the excuses, and in the past have even used some of them myself. I have realised, that it is in fact cheaper to eat more natural foods and that children enjoy learning through play, with brightly coloured vegetables - these often slip into their mouths and nutritional requirements are unnoticeably consumed!
By a gradual process of changing the contents of your fridge and your cupboards, the whole families diet will be changed - remember, poor food is very damaging to our health. By feeding yourself and your family incorrectly you may be contributing to their diseased health issues. With a healthier way of life, stress levels rapidly lower and our bodies have the natural medicinal nutrients to heal themselves, our lives then become more fulfilled and therefore happier.
I would like to be able to teach you how to bring a more healthy way of eating into your everyday life. I believe that our lifestyles and the way we think about our foods need to be addressed and understood. I understand that it is often difficult to break these nutritional faults that we all have - this is where I can help you. I will give you encouragement and support; I will suggest ideas as to where to start. I truly understand, and will keep reminding you, that a lifetime of one particular pattern cannot be changed overnight. Food can be fun, entertaining and sociable, but most of all it can make YOU a healthier person, giving you the chance of a longer, more active, pain-free and positive life.
